LITERACY FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH LINCOLN PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation and the Lincoln, NH Public Library have partnered to create a Storybook Trail along the bike path starting at the Loon Mountain Picnic area on Rte 112 in Lincoln. The path is approximately 2.6 miles round trip and encourages both the love of reading and the love of the outdoors by guiding families along paths and trails with a storybook posted along the way. Each Wednesday the story will change to coincide with the North Country Center for the Art Children's Theater production at the Papermill Theater. The Trail is open seven days a week.

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation first developed a Storybook Trail on their 100 Acre Wood property in Intervale, NH. The popularly of the trail and the Foundations’ involvement with literacy programs at preschools in the Lincoln/Woodstock area prompted Foundation Director A.O. Lucy to develop another Storybook Trail.   “We are very happy to work with the Lincoln Public Library and bring a Storybook Trail to Lincoln. We share their goals of merging fitness and literacy,” said Lucy.  

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has a broadening mission to enhance the quality of life through exposure, education, and the engagement of reading by bringing stories to life. The Literacy Foundation is a Charitable 501(c)(3) Non-Profit guided by the needs and involvement of the communities of which it serves.

The Believe in Books office and 100 Acre Wood property is located on Observatory Way in Intervale, just two miles north of the Scenic Vista in Intervale, directly across from Town Hall Road. The Foundation website is www.believeinbooks.org.
