AN EVENING WITH ATTICUS FINCH
On Wednesday March 17th at 7:00pm at the Father Roger Bilodeau Community Center on Pollard Rd.
Atticus Finch steps from the pages of “To Kill A Mockingbird” and brings to life the tragedy and triumph of Harper Lee’s classic novel. THIS PROGRAM IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL.
As a loving father, compassionate friend and uncompromising attorney, Atticus represents the divine spark in the human spirit as he leads a cast of other unlikely heroes in this story. The courtroom drama, the poignant interactions between father and children, the harsh realities of bigotry and hatred blend to make this a compelling theatrical event. The time is 1930’s Alabama but the enduring truth is for now and always.

BOOK DISCUSSION
On Thursday March 25th, at 6:00pm, we will engage in a lively discussion with Dartmouth Scholar Suzanne Brown. This program will take place at the Lincoln Cinema 4 theater at 6:00pm. After the discussion Linda Milito, owner of Lincoln Cinema has graciously agreed to show the film TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD starting at 8:00pm.
Book discussion participants will view the movie for free, all others will pay ticket price.

Baked beans, Indian pudding, fried clams, and lobster rolls... so many foods are distinctive to New England. Does food have anything to say about who we are as a region, about who we are as New Englanders? Bean-hole beans, johnnycakes, chocolate chip cookies, and pork pies -- you can find them all over the country now, but they all originally came from New England like so many of the customs and mores familiar to all. The presentation is informative, humorous, and chock-full of fascinating nuggets about the history of our regional foods. It includes reference to some of New England's more famous foodies -- Fannie Farmer, Hayden Pearson, and Julia Child -- and includes an analysis of how the changing times of New England have affected the way we eat.
Refreshments will be served, sample some of the foods of the region, Baked beans, Indian pudding, New England Clam Chowder, Tollhouse cookies and Apple Cider.

Annual Book and Bake sale
The Friends held their annual Book an Bake sale on Sat July 11th. The event was a huge success. We want to thank everyone who volunteered and donated books and baked goodies. We couldn't do it without our friends!
A special thank you goes out to Joan Denne and Don Thompson for all their dedicated help. A big thank you to Aaron Loukes who brought all the books upstairs and then returned in the AM to bring them out to the NEW tent that the Friends purchased for upcoming events.
The raffle winners are Peggy Evans, Papermill Theatre tickets, Joe Trickett Champagne brunch for 6 from Woodstock Inn and Teri Hollingsworth Hand crafted Jewelery box, donated by Werner Willer.

FRIENDS OF LINCOLN LIBRARY ANNUAL PLANT SALE
We know you are thinking about your gardens, now that the snow is finally gone, come see us at Soldier Park in N.Woodstock Saturday May 23rd from 9-2pm to get all of your planting needs, We have hundreds of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, vegetables. anything you might need to get your hands dirty and make your home look beautiful. At 11 am Master Gardener Kareen Hamilton will give a presentation on companion planting, free and open to all. We will have on hand several MASTER GARDENERS to help you make the right choices. We will also be raffling a JACK RICHARDSON print. All proceeds benefit the LINCOLN PUBLIC LIBRARY.
