Well, the time is finally here, we are going to begin to show movies in our new meeting room, that is equipped with a state of the art projector system, which the Friends of the Lincoln Library have purchased and had professionally installed. We are starting on March 24th for our 1st viewing of WINTER'S BONE, which is up for 4 Academy Awards. Due to our limited seating , we will have to ask for advanced reservations. We will be showing the film at 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

Lincoln Library Named "5 Star Library for Public Service"
LINCOLN PUBLIC LIBRARY NAMED A 5 STAR LIBRARY FOR 2nd year for PUBLIC SERVICE
A recent survey by Library Journal magazine names the Lincoln Public Library as one of the best public libraries in the state.
The survey ranked libraries based on outputs such as circulation and program attendance, assigning Michelin Guide-like ratings or five, four or three stars. Out of 7,407 public libraries surveyed, 258 receive star ratings.
The Lincoln Public Library received five stars. “We are a community oriented library,” said Library Director Carol Riley. “We try to respond to our particular community, and the community uses the library. We have an very interactive staff that pays attention and welcomes every person who comes into the library,” "This is a testament to the residents of Lincoln who value the library and all of its services" she said.
She’s confident that the townspeople will continue to support the library, both by their use of the facility and financially. Membership in the Friends of the Lincoln Library is up, and the annual membership drive is currently in full swing, and now have over 160 members.

CHILDRENS SUMMER READING PROGRAM
This summer our KIDS Summer reading program was very well attended, the theme this year was MAKE A SPLASH AT YOUR LIBRARY. The children read over 250 books, with a grant from the State Library’s KIDS, BOOKS and THE ARTS, we had Simon Brooks, storyteller, come to visit, he offered a workshop for the kids to learn about being a storyteller. We also had a program with the support of the Moosilauke Library entitled, MAD SCIENCE, where the kids learned all about the difference between MAGIC and SCIENCE. All had a great time. Our final program was LETS GO FISHING, a program offered through the NH Fish and Game. We had 9 kids and their parents signed up for a 3 hours workshop, where they learned about how to fish, they practiced casting, and what you need to be a safe fisherman. On Saturday August 7th we went up to Beaver Brook pond on Lost River ROAD and got to go fishing. Paul, the instructor said that if there are girls in the class, they will be the first to catch a fish, and SHE DID.
All the participants received their very own FISHING LICENSE.
